The Frog Prince

by Dani Ward   Nov 15, 2004

I thought I was a prince,
who deserved every last thing,
no one was as worthy as me,
I was a powerful king.
once a real prince lived,
who wished to be a frog,
and He became one,
hopping through the bog.
the prince was Christ the Lord,
who wanted to become humble,
and though He deserved glory,
they tried to make Him crumble.
He put others before Himself,
when He should have had respect,
and though He was God's equal,
He kept God's will erect.
He put God's will before His,
and He took the blame for our sin,
none of us deserves His love,
but Heaven He will let us in.
so we must follow His example,
and do as He once did,
we must humble ourselves,
and of pride we must get rid.
and now I am becoming a frog,
because the Lord's servant I am,
I must follow God's will,
and be like the Holy Lamb.
