My Best Friend

As a long lost soul
I stare into the sky
Hoping for some freedom
Hoping someone hears my cry
Hoping nothing comes between me
Hoping nothing blocks my path
Hoping someone will know me
Hoping something will make me laugh

The picture in my mind
Nothing I felt before
That picture of me falling
Of me bleeding on the floor
This picture of me know I’m here
This picture knows I’m scared
This picture helps me, scares me, shocks me
This picture shows no one cared

There’s a new picture taking its place
Of someone, something I know
This picture makes me happy again
Of someone who wasn’t afraid to show
She taught me so much
She fixed my wings and taught me how to fly
She’s shown me happiness; She’s shown me strength
And now I’m not scared to cry

She treat me well
She showed me strength
And I’d do the same back
She knows me well
She helps me grow
And gets through me times I can’t hack.
