I have heard it said
On reappearance of the dead
What you saw was in your head
Better not retell this story.
Is reappearance so bad?
There was reassurance to be had
Confidence the other side is not all sad
For your loved one.
Here is my report as told:
While out walking in the cold,
Appeared there–I will be bold–
My father after his death.
Now his appearance was subtle
I glanced to see, then looked down at a puddle;
My thoughts raced, my emotions a muddle,
My spirit cried out to me - That is your dad!
His eyes were most telling
His glance briefly spelling
Words of love most compelling;
I am convinced - that was dad!
Having passed with a sigh
But one meeting of eyes
I turned and to my surprise
He was gone.
No man could be found
On that road into town
I walked up and walked down
Yet that man I did see.
So you be the judge.
Think that I gave reality a nudge?
This is my story - I will not budge -
I saw my dad!
