A message from the night

by blarg   Nov 15, 2004

I am the night
the sister to day
the misunderstood child
the one of whom people are afraid

i am the night
the frightening dark
veils my loving heart
i was shunned from the start

do not be afraid
for i will not hurt you
sleep soundly
my words are true

dance in the darkness
and i shall embrace you
become my child
run freely, and wild

i am the night
hide in me
from danger
perhaps a frightening
tall 'dark' stranger

do not be afraid
when you are without light
for in the darkness
you will be bright

remember next time
you are scared
the night will protect you
find comfort there

not very good. but i wanted to try a different kind of writing. comment/vote please.
