Mommy are you ok?

by west   Nov 15, 2004

I run down the stairs as you run up them.
i scream as he pushes you down.
SLAM-- his fist meets your face.
a sudden rage comes over me--
SLAM-- now its my fist with his FACE.
"mommy are you ok? your bleeding, put some ice on your face."
his drunken body lays on the floor finishing a forty and then some more.
broke glass, broken bones, broken window, BROKEN HOME.
i sit in my room, i cry and cry.
the dog starts to bark O NO theres more
my mommy once again meets the floor.
nights of terror, house of fears.
i cant go to sleep, he'll kill her in her sleep.
i sit and wonder whens the next strike
it's only four o clock, should i take a nap to be prepared?
day after day i cry of fear.
scared to go home,
scared if he'll be there.
is mommy ok? is she bleeding? is she whole?
THERE is NO TOMORROW! THIS IS ONE LONG BAD DREAM!
again i beginin to cry DADDY SAVE ME.
