Black Rose

by Perfect Little Secret   Nov 16, 2004

As impure and tainted as I may be
If you open your callused eyes you shall see
The way I don't present myself to the world
My spine isn't broken and curled
I don't have a tail and pointy horns
I'm just a black rose with deadened thorns
A hidden beauty behind a fake wall
I should suck it up and stand tall
Then you came along and saw through the thorns
And showed me how beautiful people could be
Then it happened, and out came the thorns
Blocking me up so no one could see
The pain I was in
It hurt deep within
I guess I am as tainted as they say
I guess for now, I'll always be this way
