Life without you

by Justin   Nov 16, 2004

Since the hour i saw your li'l hand waving,
i knew the best part of my life was leaving.
you were too busy with your frivolity
to understand the tears that stuck in my throat.

yes it pained a lot to swallow my feelings
as we sauntered outside the port,
waiting for your ship to leave and take you,
to the place of your dreams.

my dreams, ah my wonderful dreams,
centered around a perfect li'l world
where we belong to each other,
sans worries, anguish and ambition.

everyday i take a walk down the lane,
to find you where the bus used to stop,
to see your loving smile after a long day,
which used to take my pain away.

now all i do is to speak with the three,
you guessed it, your photographs only,
i can still feel your presence, in the warmth of your breath,
and the softness of your touch

it is a bit odd this life i lead without you,
or your voice or your perfume to pervade my senses
without your luscious lips to kiss in ecstasy
or your arms to hold me in times of agony.

it is strange the feeling of loneliness,
it creeps from within the lairs of hell,
it grips you and splits you apart,
your soul, yourself and your heart.

a year or more to pass with a thorn in my heart,
frequenting the lanes of reminiscence,
i will try and hold on and wait,
to see you before it gets too late.
