The Children

by Ben   Nov 16, 2004

As they hide away from the world
Never to see the beauty
Only the hate and destruction
Living in a world of pure brutality

In the Middle East
The children grow up behind bars
Living in a world of severed peace
Growing up being scared

Having a futile existence
Absolutely no reason to living
Except the thing which us all – subsistence
The wanting to be, surviving

Harmony is something the children
Will never know in there life
It’s what they will never imagine
Living on what seems the edge of a knife

The worlds leaders now,
They don’t think of the future
The future – which is the children
And the U.S. wonders why
The Middle East hates them

Equality is a word
These children haven’t been taught
Which is absolutely absurd
Thus why the world’s always in fought

So as these children hide
Little do they realise
The future they hold
Lets just hope they don’t compromise
Peace for hate and despise
Even though they grow up in a world so full of lies
