Broken Soul

by Amanda   Nov 16, 2004

This is the story of a broken soul
For some one her heart stole
Locked it up in a box so tight
To be released when the time seemed right

Everything adorned with crimson and black lace
No more smiles grace her lovely face
She cries more than ever
Now feeling cold and severed

Placing the bottle to her lips
She closes her eyes and takes a sip
The liquid burns like fire down her throat
Forcing her to remove her coat

The smell is potent and the notion clear
She can now longer live, no longer stay here
To see his face as the days grow long
And having to hear "their" stupid song

She breathes deeply and thinks of what she's done
All the pain will soon be gone
She closes her eyes and thinks away
She can see the clearing toward better days

The fire burns hotter deep within her chest
She takes her one last and final breath
As her eyes slowly begin to close
The world looses yet another broken soul
