Remembering Love

by jennifer   Nov 17, 2004

Remember the love we once shared, when our lives we never bare.
You are gone, and I am here, come home safe, come home soon, as I look up at the big bright moon.
Thoughts of you envision my soul, as I fear you may never come home.
Fighting them with all he has, joining up only eighteen, my best friend, till the end.
Knowing he is doing what's right, as my letters I will forever write.
Iraq is where he is, Home I am, I just wish I had told him the things I may never say.
I love you, not as a friend, and if you are gone my heart may never mend.
You were there, you are true and I really do love you.
Always the man to do the right thing, I now wear your wedding ring.
You came from war, now we share so much more.
