Silence (Part 2 Of My Story)

by SilentAngel   Nov 17, 2004

Mother never forgave herself
For not taking his keys from him
Especially since he was slurring every word
And stumbling drunk
In the early time of day
When she has just gotten to work
After that horrid day
She never spoke of what happened
That day or his name.
Even though those tear shed nights
I felt his pain conveyed
Though her eyes
Then one day
I was brave and
Wrote a poem of what happed
The dreadful day of July
When she reads it suddenly
Tears came to her eyes and then
Then is when I knew I uncovered something
That should of stayed hidden and never been brought up again.
At one in her tears she said to me…
Thanks, I needed that for I had not dealt
With his death because I had always kept
His death hidden in my heart.
