Matthew 7:7

by Mustardhart   Nov 17, 2004

God caused us to ask,
It is the believer’s task
As much as it depends on us
Ask and he gives without fuss.

God caused us to seek
Gently, diligently under his feet
All the secret treasure store
Shall find in his bosom aglow.

God caused us to knock.
With hands and not fork
As it hurts and pains
He opens and pays.

God causes us to hear.
His gentle still voice not fear
As he speaks in tongues of men
The words of his command send.

And as we ask, seek, know and listens
He surely’ll hear, open and give.
‘Never will I leave or forsake you’
His wonder and love to spend.
