Love

He makes you fall in love with him,
Even when you don’t want to.
There’s something about him
He appeals to all my senses.
Just when he has you where he wants you,
He leaves.
Whether it’s a miles away,
Or right down the hall.
Then when you think he’s gone for good…
He comes back.
He reminds you of all the things he once gave you.
This time it’s different though.
He’s not who he used to be.
You don’t have what you had before…
You fall apart.
He no longer cares,
You do all the work.
Just when you’re fed up,
When you think you’ve finally gotten over him,
You see him.
Every memory comes back,
You realize,
You never REALLY got over him.
It was just a blanket covering the truth.
Just for one day you wish you had him again,
The funny times you shared,
The talks.
Then you realize-he has that with someone new,
Someone not you…
It just feels like he ripped out your heart….again.
For awhile it hurts just to think.
Until you found a method,
It stops the pain he inflicted.
If you know him, you know what I mean.
A life without him is a life full of lies, guilt, and hate.
A life full of not knowing myself well enough to know,
I still love him…
