Better than the real thing

Better than the real thing

Never thought you’d ever be such a fool,
But step back honey, and take a look at you,
You’ve lost your fire,
The thing that I desired,
Now you’re someone I don’t know,
A face with no name.

But it’s all right, that’s ok, can’t complain,
In some ways,
You’re better than the real thing.
I’m up all night, still awake, at daybreak,
Just to say,
You’re better than the real thing.

You’re nothing you were, not how you were before,
Not the sweet innocent angel I adored,
You lost your faith,
Found lust on the way,
And just so that you know,
It’s a good thing to change.

It’s all right, that’s ok, can’t complain,
In some ways,
You’re better than the real thing.
I’m up all night, still awake, at daybreak,
Just to say,
You’re better than the real thing.
