I have wished
that only one tear
would take my mind
and never engulf another...
but that cannot be,
as life does not submit
in that way.
I am scared to face you
quiet beyond words to describe...
did you comprehend
what it is I was trying to say,
or have you ignored
it's very calling.
I do not know
what it is you feel
and what it is
you wanted from me
all of those years,
as time wove
it's devouring flight
I wept
I thought till
no other tender words
could fill my mind,
I prayed
I sat with only myself
and no one to comfort me.
Because I thought
love was healable,
and I thought that when
we were finally together,
i'd never cry
another tear again.
