Thank you all SO much for your comments! The book was called "A Dance Between Sisters" ... I sort of changed the plot and the ending, but the main idea is the same. A girl's mom died, her sister became depressed, and so the girl took up anorexia to stay in shape for dancing. She had an important role in her holiday performance, and didn't want her weight to affect her dancing.
