The Journey to Dragons Hollow: P2

Carson headed back to his room. The girl laid on her bed and within mere minutes Ana fell asleep. She was rudely awoken only 3 hours later. "ANA! Ana, wake up! It's eight o'clock. Why are you still asleep?" Ana opened a sleepy eye to see her foster mother Lorna standing above her. "It is too early" she mumbled, pulling the blanket above her head. Lorna shook her head, Ana heard her sigh, "Fine I will get Travis in here, will that wake you up?" She asked, knowing that Ana would die before ever letting Travis come into her room, he would rip the covers off of her and tell her that if she didn't get up right then she would never see the light of day again. "I'm up. I'm up!" the girl shouted groggily. "Can I take a shower to wake up?" she asked, knowing that the answer would most likely be no..."Sure, there is a couple coming to see you and your brother today anyway, so I want you looking your best. No black lipstick and no heavy eyeliner like you wear, and I wish you would take those god forsaken piercings out. That could be part of the reason no one wants you." Ana stared in shock. The twins had been in this house for three years, ever since their parents had been killed in a car accident. "You are joking right?!" She asked, her voice giving away her astonishment. "D-Do they no about Carson? His health issues?" she asked. When the twins were 11 years old Carson had been diagnosed with Leukemia. Carson was on Chemotherapy for six months. He was fine for a year, then, it came back with the force of a tidal wave hitting a rocky beach, but the doctors were able to cure it with radiation. Four years he had been in remission, only one year left and they would consider him cured. Lorna nodded, "Yes they do, and they also know that you two came here as teenagers. But they still want to look at you. So hurry up and get ready, they'll be here in two hours." Lorna said, turning an walking out of the bedroom. Ana sunk down on her bed, "Wow, people actually want to look at us...we could have a family again..." She said out loud. And to herself. That was one of the plus sides of being the oldest person in a group foster home; you got a bedroom to yourself. She took a hurried shower and pulled on the nicest thing she owned, a knee length black skirt, silver tank, with black flip flops. She brushed her long hair back and put it into two braids tying the ends with black ribbons. She decided to take out her lip piercing, it might make a somewhat better impression, but she did leave the small ruby stud in her nose. She wouldn't give Lorna the whole pleasure of knowing that she listened to her. Skipping downstairs she sought out Carson, to apologize to him about last night. She found him, playing with the younger children, he stood so much taller than the three year old running around him. (The fact that he was so tall was amazing, the chemo should have stunted his growth.) He smiled and waved at his sister. He was dressed in nice slacks and a light blue shirt. So he already knows...Ana joined in the play. Before they knew it Lorna was pulling them away. The look on her face was full of disdain. They soon found out why. Lorna and Travis were both present when they looked at possible new parents. Walking into the interview room, they saw two men sitting in the chairs. Lorna's disdain was now obvious, she was severely homophobic, and the interviewers were to gay men.
