Life after Life

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 18, 2004

Life after Life; Life after Love
Life is sent from the One above
Life void of its life giving,’ breath’,
Is what, is known to us as death.

Love is our spirit’s breath; Life without Love is death
The spirit it needs Love, as the body needs the air
God is Love, and Life giving Love is everywhere

The night needs the darkness, as the day needs the light
The light comes after darkness. The day comes after night
But somewhere in the darkness, I believe the sun still shines so bright
The love of God remains with us even when it is out of sight

My eyes need to look, and my mind needs to know
My spirit needs to feel what will make it grow
My ears need to listen for the spiritual truth that will show
The sweetness of the Paradise, where I was created to go

What’s the meaning of my rhythm and rhyme?
What’s the meaning of Life, time after time?
What’s the meaning of the time on this earth we have spent?
Is it to return to the place from where we were sent?

You are the best religious/philosophical type poet (not catergorising at all) that I have had the pleasure to read Michael - a really fantastic piece no different to all the rest of your amazing poems with such depth and meaning behind it. Thanks so much for sharing this it was amazing to read!
