No Way Out

by brittany   Nov 18, 2004

Walking through the hallways of an imprisoned world.
Passing by no-faced, two faced people.
A universe of masks.
Made rosy cheeks and plastered smiles.
I take my own mask off and I can finally breathe again.
Drowning in my puddle of lies.
Trying to get out, but only one way is clear.
I pull the trigger and set myself free.

This poem is sooo true. I'm a student at my local High School and I know exactly where you're coming from. I seems like some times I have to fake a smile and walk and talk with people that are actually something totally different than what they portray on the outside.
