Baby boy..

June 29, 1989, a terrible mistake was made.
A little baby boy was born.
A child so innocent and pure,
Was born to be loved and adorn.

When he was 1, he was hated.
He had suffered a great deal.
He was never meant to be.
And he had wounds that just won't heal..

At age two, he learned to walk..
But only to have his legs broken..
He learned to speak loud and clear.
But now he wishes he had never spoken..

When he was 3, He was forced to go to school.
He was younger then all the other boys and girls,
For he was 3 and they were 4.
Even at age 3, he wanted to end his world.

When he was 4, He was hurt and beaten.
He was thrown against a hard wall.
He couldn't run away; his legs were broken.
It was hard for him to walk at all.

When he was 5, he was made fun of at school.
No one liked him; he had not even one friend...
He was always sad and lonely,
Wishing everything would just end.

When he was 6, He had a sister.
She was treated with love and care.
His mommy love that little girl,
But he wished she wasn't there.

When he was 8, He picked up that knife.
He cut for the very first time.
It made him feel better, Made him feel free..
So was that such a bad crime?

By the time he was 10, He had stitches 7 times.
He had scars on his arms.
He didn't know what he wa doing,
He didn't know it was self-harm.

When he was 12, He had a tattoo.
A huge dragon down his back.
His mommy didn't know, His mommy didn't care,
But I guess he learned to live with that.

When he was 14, He had a friend,
But his friend was soon gone.
His friend killed himself now he wishes
That was a battle he had won.

Now he's 15 and sometimes he wonders
What happened to the baby so innocent and free.
Oh, and before I finish this poem I have to tell you,
I have to tell you that baby was me.
