Don't You Remeber

by Ryan Linton   Nov 19, 2004

We were young and nieve, our love was so great,
but when I say I love you, it seems its too late.
So I look back to the begining, in search of my error,
"It can't be too late," I scream out in terror
Way back then, You were with him, and I was with her,
I want to go back to being with you, back to how we were.
that's the way it was, but we said we'd wait

You said you would wait for me

I said I would continue to wait for you
So now I sit her knowing what I said was true
I said I would wait however long it would take,
When you said it did you think it was a mistake
Mistake or not, you told me that you you would be there
But now when I need you, where are you, you aren't here.

You said you would wait for me

If you really didn't mean it then why would you lie,
I waited for you as you ran away, leaving me here to die.
Should I have moved along back then, just like you,
But I didn't know you had, you told me what we had was true
You said it meant all of the world to you, such bullshit,
It meant the world to me, but for you it just didn't fit.

You said you would wait for me

Why didn't you wait for me

Now back to the present, pathetically I still sit here
Wondering if you ever really cared, or even shed a tear
And now it finally hits me, only six years too late
You don't love me, and it's a cruel joke of fate,
that I can't forget you no matter how hard I try,
Even now, after you have married that other guy.

You said you would wait for me

Why didn't you wait for me...
