My world

by ~*^*~ longing to belong ~*^*~   Nov 19, 2004

Walk in through the broken gates,
Open your eyes and look around,
At the stormy skies and littered ground,

Go on down the empty lane,
The pavement cracked and filthy,
Beware of the rats; you’d better be stealthy,

Up through the abandoned park,
Go on round the corner,
Along to the putrid burner,

Past the rusted bus stop,
Over the broken-down 369,
And up to the old diner,

Alongside the dried out river,
Full of polluted debris,
And plastic bags from last century,

Nearly there, it’s not far now,
Through the dilapidated graveyard,
The stones covered in bird excrete- gone hard,

At last we have reached our destination,
The final obstacle,
A sea full of barnacles,

Now friends and enemies,
If you would kindly follow me,
Off the end of the rotten jetty,

This concludes today’s tour of my world.
