Dreamers

by FTS Miles   Nov 20, 2004

Dreamers do not see
The common in the common
Nor the dagger bullet fang
Stalking from the shadows.

Dreamers do not see
The treacheries of friends
Nor the threats--nay, promises!--
Of the Forsaken and the Damned.

Dreamers do not see
The dangers ideals birth
Nor the excuses weakness makes
To flee the fires of salvation.

But I see
The demons in the darkness
Who lobby joy in status quo,
And graze upon the human soul.

As I too see
A glimpse of magic
In the dreamer’s tale
Which innocents my violate soul.

So while you hunt for
Dreamers on your mundane soil,
Beware the nightwalks
For I too am there...

And some wise demons
Wish to learn to dream.
