All that one is

by dandy   Nov 21, 2004

All that I am is all I can be.
You are you and this is me.

I am no different than any of you.
You say you don't judge me, yet I know you do.

I'm blind towards some things, but through you I can see.

I see that you don't really care,
how or why I'm me.

I turn a deaf ear to those that don't care,
yet my head still hangs in despair.

I can hear what you say, all the insults and lies,
go through the ears and out watery eyes.

Mental slaps on my face are knives that cut deep.
Behind the fake smile is a girl who weeps.

For carelessness, whispers and for words of false sweet.
For judgment that lingers, for laughs and deceit.

No one can accept another person's view.
Their insults become bumps that darken and bruise.

Never will we come to accept another's thinking.
Hence life rots away in this hell which we are sinking.

All that one is, is all one can be.
You be you, and I'll be me.
