Love's Final Touch

by Fisherman   Nov 21, 2004

Love’s Final Touch

I ache for your touch
I loved it so much --
I remember it still
As I climb life’s last hill.

Your warmth next to me
When all I could see
Were problems and woes
Your life coming to a close.

I could not accept
The disease so adept
Which was ending your life
Leaving mine in such strife.

Your warm hug so assuring
Your love still alluring
Your cheek touching my ear
As your death was so near.

You will survive
Enjoy being alive
I will be waiting for you
You come to heaven too.

And then you were gone
Your last words - my song.
Remembering your touch
These now mean so much.
