Ode to a Beloved

by Prakash   Nov 21, 2004

Fondly do I revive memories of togetherness,
memories of you and me
in some lonesome island
with none but ourselves,
to share, to love, to do everything.

Gone are the days of happy thought,
Dark figures invade my mind.
Like a river bank , eroded
by its waters,
my thoughts do waste Sanity.

Hurts when I think ,
of your omnipresence in mine soul.
And more when I see,
you,
never felt the same.

Everything doth glint your eyes,
but me
Everything finds your smile,
but myself.
When I look at your countenance sculpted,
my mind overflows with
one soft strain of loving hope,
one happy incense of your touch.

The memories shall fill my mind,
for years more to come.

Stretching out for you,
my hands just out of reach - I thought,
But now, so far , they seem
no bridge could ever reach
And farther become
with every second ,of heartless time.

Reaching out for you in infinite space,
my hands do slip and falter,
in expanse uncharted
so lacking in your vital essence

Thinking of you, my mind goes hazy ,
your soft image
etched in my heart
But as if flamed by your spirit,
I go on in one timeless pursuit,
one prodigious image filling my sense,
numbing my limbs
eclipsing my eyes
hot tears flushing my muffled eyes
I can wipe them , but never the memories

Bind me ,ropes of Sanity,
My troubled mind flowing deep in Ac heron (It does not have the space in between - Spell check did it), ---(Greek river of sadness)
sinking with every rise.
Free me from this eternal thought.

My mind inflames with one woeful spirit,
my sad hands begin to shake,
my eyes close,
as I see none but that towering image
of long lost Love or ,shall I say ,You ...
