What they say

Everybody looks at me
i hear what they say
its not my past they talk about
but its the transformation taking place

they say I'm a living miracle
because I'm taking back what i had
and now I'm not known for who i dated
but for being me

some people hate me for my past
and i can deal with it
because the true will stick by me
no matter what cliche they come from

they try to analyze the change
and figure out where it started
they think its because i let go
and headed in a new direction

then i hear the words strangers say
about how I'm a wanna be
because i started out as a loser
and transformed into me

I'm not a stepping stone anymore
and my expectations are higher
I'm not gonna settle for less then my best
or people that will bring me down

different view points on the new me
but only my opinion matters
i love to be myself
no matter what they say
