The Forgotten Land

The forgotten land,
I always visit,
But always forget,
I re-visit at night,
Forget it by day,
Hoping one day,
That I will remember,
The way it is,
The colours in the sky,
The smell of the air,
The way I talk,
The way I am dressed,
The way you are,
The only way is sleep,
That is the only way I can see,
The way I dream,
Is of you,
The only time I can see you,
It’s in my dreams.
I wish I was there all the time,
Because then I wouldn't leave your side,
I with you,
Then am not,
I want to stay,
Even if it means,
Sleeping forever,
The forgotten land,
I always leave,
Only to return,
To forget again,
Never ending,
Always forgetting,
Then remembering,
It’s the way it will be,
The only way I see you,
The only way I breathe.
