Pause

by Aymon F   Nov 22, 2004

Tricked
Cheated
Deceived
Falsely Appeased

She came back to me
WE formed our “bubble” see
Then she came everyday
And everything was ok

One afternoon
She said goodbye again
Too soon
Marrooned
Again, “just friends”

I told her that if we closed the door
We shouldn’t talk or see each other anymore
Once it was closed it was locked
And it was no use to knock

So we saw each other everyday
But instead we just looked away
Eyes met, look at the floor
Not a second will they bore

Not a word, one week
Not a glimpse, second
Everything was good
Then it went bleak

I remembered her
My heart randomly stirred
I wanted her back
Reason I lacked.

I went to talk
Strolling on the risky walk
Climbing the leaning stalk.

She told me bluntly
Whose fault it was for not talking
Me

I gave her a letter, asking her back
And she told me
“It was companionship I lacked
Now I’m tight with many a friend
Oh, but that’s nice we can talk again.”

She left, smiling happy has ever
And I was sad to know that I’ll miss her forever
That she’ll hold me under her spell for years to pass
Only then will I shatter the glass
The box holding me
A toy monkey
Smashing my cymbals as she pleased

I cant rid my head of the witch
She disrupts my brain
An endless itch
My heart beats faster in vain
I remember good times
I’m happy then filled with pain
Giddy, shaking, pleasantly weird
Real reason for this has disappeared
Artificial cause
My life is in pause.
