Beautiful Angel

I remember the day when we first met.
Sitting in the darkness I tried to drink my life away.
I got half way, shivering cold and wet.
And then an angel appeared and chased the darkness away.

Hear golden wings played a sweet melody with every beat.
She picked me up and set me on my feet.
I looked in her eyes and that’s when I saw it.
Love flowed from her lips and warmth flowed in her touch.

I prayed every night that it wasn’t just a dream.
And every morning I awoke to a beautiful angel next to me.
She watched over me and made sure I stayed close by.
Each night I checked and love never left her eyes.

But on a cold night, the angel was cut short.
A tragedy occurred and now it’s up to me.
Now I may repay the kindness and love she’s shown.
Her frail body needs me there to protect her.

Night and day, by your side I will stay.
I’ll follow in her footsteps and never let her fall.
I’ll hold her hand and guide her, not once will I stall.
Because this angel is precious to me and I love her too much to give her up.
