Ode To My Best Friend

by Lipton   Nov 24, 2004

I never really felt it,
A friendship that is true,
Until at 14 years, I moved,
And then I met you.
At first things were a little shaky,
I was timid and shy.
But you just seemed to be there,
And I don't know why.
It wasn't until later,
That our friendship grew.
You began to see me,
As I began to see you.

We've poured our hearts out,
In times of distress,
And the other has always helped,
When there's a need for rest.
I can't thank God enough,
For privileging me to know you,
It's been an answer to prayer,
I knew God would hold true.
Words just can't do perfect justice,
To the joy that you've instilled,
You as close as a friend can bee,
And any other way, I would not have it willed.

We'll have our hard times,
And we'll have the easy ones,
But we won't falter,
Even though the haunting dusk may weigh tons.
So I close this praise with a thing or two.
Aimed at my best man, and best friend.
Daniel, you're one of my greatest blessings.
Thanks for being my bro to the end.
