Good-Bye Lover

by Kristin   Nov 24, 2004

I try so hard to find the good in others,
But everyone is just so cruel,
They cheat about things and then lie to your face,
They try so hard to be cool.

We were once friends but I can't remember it,
Our friendship is long gone,
You set the rules, we are not friends,
I won't cross the line you have drawn.

I wish you wouldn't look at me like that,
You think you are so much better than me,
I wish that you could only see,
How much you made me plea.

I have shut the passage to my heart,
No one has seen it since,
You were the last to love me,
Where are you now my prince?

You know inside I am better than you,
But you just won't admit it,
You told me we were over,
You had left, we have split.

You talk about me and spread many rumors,
You make yourself feel better,
You won't even look into my eyes,
You didn't respond to my letter.

Farewell to you, I am moving away,
You won't have anyone to tease,
I am over you and all your lies,
I will not fall to your knees.
