The cuts are healing,
The wounds are sealing,
The pain is fading away,

But I cannot forget,
There’s no way I’ll regret,
The day I ran away,

The times you misused me,
You mentally abused me,
Is it any wonder I ran away?

I felt so down,
I couldn’t stay around,
Why I ran away.

Immobilised by the things you said,
So terrified, I hoped I was dead,
Not surprised I ran away,

What makes you think you should be forgiven,
When it is you, who has driven,
Me to run away.
