I looked forward to that day,
Thinking I could be strong
I thought my pain would go away,
The second you were gone.
I counted down each hour,
There wasn’t long to go,
It was like a beautiful flower
Was just about to grow.
Then I lost that glory,
It pushed me off my feet,
I realised that this story,
Would never be complete.
I wanted to straighten it out,
And to fix every bend
But now I really doubt,
That this hell will ever end.
So many bridges were not crossed,
So many stones left unturned,
So many answers are now lost,
so many lessons never learnt.
I thought it was time for it to be okay,
I thought I could be strong,
I thought my pain would go away,
But I guess I got that wrong.
