Away

by Mild insomnia   Nov 26, 2004

We’ve chosen this forsaken road,
And no one ever stopped to ask where it goes,
This is what we chose,
And where it goes, no, no one knows.

Miles and miles, no one around,
We can’t stop to ask where we’re abound,
Far from the nearest town,
And walking further rain starts to pour down.

The streets call out to me; they’re sad and lonely,
And I feel so much pity; cos I’ve got you with me,
The way back home’s echo’s in the night are fading,
And the dark whispers are so persuading…

There’s just no going back,
Now we’re on this never-ending track,
The lights ahead are black,
But we’re not heading back, no that’s a fact.

The city left behind,
Is lurking in the depths of my fragile mind,
But I’m heading down the line,
We’re leaving here tonight.
