Ball's in your court

by Mild insomnia   Nov 26, 2004

I’m sure that I have seen your face before,
Or it reminds me of someone back home,
In this place I’m sure I’ve never passed you by,
Got here yesterday to start over my life.
And still I’m sure I’d like to know you more,
Here’s my number; you’ve got a phone.

I used to drop ideas and change my mind,
But now that I got here, I just haven’t time,
Everything’s changed, and I’m not sure it’s for the best,
Still I can’t complain, cos my past is such a mess,
I’ll leave it to you; you can call me if you want,
And if you don’t, well the ball’s in your court.

My decision,
Was division,
From my mistakes - unforgiven.
I left there,
In despair,
But I’ve found that I never cared.

And my memories,
Cannot haunt me, (I am safe)
I’m past regretting history. (When I am alone)
Now I’m here,
A “pioneer”, (I’m away)
No one’s ever dared to volunteer. (To leave home)

If ever I should return,
I’m sure I’ve many lessons learned,
But that’s not my concern,
I won’t go back to what we were.
