A heart is nothing but a toy

by Carli   Nov 26, 2004

A heart is nothing but a mere toy,
Being played with by what appears to be a child
A child with no hope
The squeezing of the oh so little love and life left in her heart
Brings warm tears of aggression to her eyes
Her life flashes before her as she looks in the mirror at a young girl without a clue
A young girl who once thought she loved
A young girl who has no reason to live
The blackness of reality and mascara run down her cheek
As she grasps tighter onto the cold handle of the revolver from her fathers drawer
Why couldn’t she see?
Why didn’t she look harder than she thought seemed to be
Thinking back on what happened
There was no stopping her
The harshness of life had taken a toll on her
Pressing hard, harder, harder into her temple
Finger on the trigger, trembling hands
10…9…1…BANG!
She doesn’t wait
That young, beautiful girl is no longer
As they say, a heart is nothing but a mere toy…
