I Lost My Best Friend*~*

I lost my best friend and I don't know why,
All I want to do is sit here and cry.
Ever since we were two,
everything was always me and you.
At last we are in Junior High,
I thought that I had met the right guy,
you thought he was Mr. Wrong,
you told me to tell him so long.
After a while he got kind of old,
he was everything that you had told.
In the ninth grade you had taken me to the prom,
you have always been the one approved by my mom.
We finally turned 21,
you told me that we were not done.
you told me that you were in love with the girl next door,
you said everyday you've loved me more.
As I look you deeply in your eyes,
you asked me those four words that took me by surprise.
You said that you've known me your whole life,
now won't you please be my wife.
I said yes,
without a guess.
It was now the real thing
not just a fling.
Our wedding day is scheduled to happen in fall,
until I got that dreadful call.
The man said you were stuck,
between a tree and a drunk driver's truck.
The man said you were gone without a doubt,
that is when I started to shout.
The man said it was caused by a DUI,
I was screaming at the top of my lungs, why God why?
I lost my best friend but now it is not a mystery,
just because of a drunk driver, you were put into misery.
