Don't be like the others

by Lucy   Nov 27, 2004

You try your hardest to take your mind off the pain.
You focus on all that you think you can gain.

You try to always wear a smile.
But it only lasts for a little while.

Because the pain quickly comes rushing back.
Reality sets in for what you lack.

You breathe in deeply, try not to cry.
Cover your pain and begin to lie.

You tell others you live in a loving home.
You tell others you are not alone.

This lying does not last for long
Because to you, you seem to get everything wrong.

As hard as you try, you just can't get things right.
This time, you really don't want to fight.

You've had your share of pain in your life.
Its time for someone else to live in
strife.

You've had far to much pain, for just fourteen years.
You have come to the conclusion that no one cares.

Because they didn't give you a chance, you know that is true
You no longer know what you should do.

For now, you will just try to live through your days.
For all you know, this pain could be a phase.

You might wake up tomorrow, full with hope.
You realise you now will be able to cope.

So go on living, make the most of your life,
Don't be like the others and resort to the knife.
