For you...(shoulda known)

by SplitSided   Nov 28, 2004

When you got here you were new.
Right then and there I knew I didn't like you.
But in fact.
Your impression on the school would last.
You were only 17.
There was so much of the world that in your eyes that goes unseen.
When we had to chance to talk I didn't know what to say.
Now I hate to think about that day.
I heard about you.
And couldn't figure out what to do.
Everyone around me was a friend of yours.
The pain got to me seeing my brother crying by the doors.
But in fact that was a part of your family.
But that was something I didn't see.
You wrestled for a couple of years.
Seeing those pictures of you brought some tears.
Right before you left I considered you a friend.
And it was your hand that you decided to lend.
You helped me in the time of need.
I couldn't help you because I was surrounded in greed.
I'm sorry I didn't mean anything.
But now with time sorrow will bring.
Christ, I'm on a guilt trip now.
I look at your picture and wonder how.
How could I be so stupid.
But then again I was just a kid.
But that's no reason.
To stick you with this treason.
Atleast some kindness i could have shown.
You got drunk and were depressed what you were doin I shoulda known...
