That One Thing

by Ann   Nov 28, 2004

You know that one thing,
That you work every day to get better at,
That one simple thing,
No one could take from you that…

Well how about that day,
Your dreams are crushed
Everything you worked for is gone
And your life has been rushed.

It hurts so bad to work so hard
At this one thing, everyday
When suddenly, one unexpected person
Takes all your dreams away

You sit there alone, nothing to say
Your dreams and future are gone
Your life is ruined, and there’s nothing left
From your life you have withdrawn

Now, with your future gone,
You just want to break down and cry
As you watch these other people
Pass your whole life by.

Repetitively you have heard,
That other people are better than you
But you didn’t realize it for sure
Until you witnessed it was true.

So with all said, you have to drop your life
Everything you wished for
Is now gone in your past, so forget your future
You’re done now - is what they swore

This poem probably doesn't make sense to you because it's about a certain topic, but tell me what you think anyways, thanks.
