My Everlasting Love

As I’m being carried away by a nurse on this wheelchair,
Although she’s trying to tell me not to despair,
I don’t understand any of this; to me all this seems so new,
Were things supposed to be like this between me and you ???

We were supposed to play today with our grandkids- Mike and Kate,
Now what do I tell them if they ask me about my team mate,
You were there all through my childhood & my youth,
And now can’t I share the joy of eternity with u ???

I know u must be tired waiting up there for me,
But I think your kids here; they just need me,
A little more time and then there’ll be nothing left behind to see,
And then the things will be just as they were supposed to be…
