Keep on Dancing

by Deaths Maiden   Nov 28, 2004

All we once had is suddenly gone,
Where is the justice? Every chance we have taken seemed to go wrong.

We fought for peace but where was the light?
When we tried to fight to make the wrong seem right.

Cities have died,
Why do we bother to even try?
We cannot restore what we have lost inside,
What do we do when so many cry?

The truth to the suffering lay inside,
It cannot be told so people have died.

Where was the peace when this war broke through?
The world is such a big place what can we do?

The Lady dances when people die,
She tries to comfort all when they cry.

She calms the dead for them to rest in peace
She keeps on dancing, she shall never cease.

Where is the hope we need to find?
She keeps on dancing.
We need to find our strength.
She keeps on dancing.
Where is the love we once had?
She keeps on dancing…away.

Our hope now lays in sleep,
The victory we hoped for, is not ours to keep.

We were so blind; we should shave known,
When we begun, we would reap what we sowed.

A child is lost; their mothers have died,
No one around to hold them if they suddenly cried.

The future means nothing because the present holds nothing but sorrow,
Will we live long enough to even hope for a brighter tomorrow?

The beginning of the end now lies in wait,
We brace ourselves for our most fearful fate.

All this fighting what was it for?
This place bares such despair, it grows stronger than ever before.

But no matter our pain, no matter our hate,
The Lady will not allow us to welcome our fate.

She holds strong and does her best to bring happiness to us all,
She’ll keep on dancing before we suddenly fall.

We need redeem what we once had.
She keeps on dancing
Where is the light when darkness shrouds all,
She keeps on dancing.
Will there be hope when the end draws near?
She’ll keep on dancing…away.
