Still Here

by Jacklyn   Nov 29, 2004

While you take a shower and sing,
I sit on the edge of the sink,
My feet are resting on top the toilet cover,
Singing was never one of your specialties,
So I will sit here with earplugs just in case,
Sometimes I get up,
And dance to the beat,

While you cook in the kitchen,
I sit on the counter, I watch you TRY to figure things out,
Cooking was never one of your specialties,
So I will sit here with a fire extinguisher if it is in need,
You and cooking sounds like a scary thing,

While you clean and dance,
To your music blaring loud,
I’ll walk around, and cheer you on,
Your dancing is good, lively and fun,
But that’s not why I am cheering you on,
The fact that you remember to clean,
Surprises me enough,
But don’t worry I will tell you if you miss a spot,

While you sit in our room all alone and cry,
I’ll be there right next to you,
I’ll hold you and comfort you,
I’ll try to wipe away all your sad lonely tears,
Tears fill my eyes because you are a good man,
What did you do to deserve so much lonely pain?
So when you cry,
I’ll be by your side,
I’ll hold you tight,
No matter what the time you need me.

Or while you lay down at night,
But your eyes are still open wide,
I’ll be by your side,
And sing you a lullaby,
Once you fall asleep,
I lay next to you,
I’ll keep you warm and hold you to tomorrow,

Or when you get in a fight,
With your new girlfriend,
Because she’s not like me,
I’ll stand near you,
I’ll make funny faces,
To break her concentration,
But once the fight is done,
I’ll show her to the door,
But don’t you worry; you’ll find someone new.

When you’re at your wedding,
I’ll be happy you found someone,
Sad because you’re no longer with me,
Mad because I might be replaced,
I’ll probably yell at god, how can he let this go on?
But I’ll get over it and sit in the back row,
It’s the only seat that is open; I wish I could get up more,
Don’t you worry though,
Objections I won’t do,
If she makes you happy,
Then I’m happy too,
I’ll sit there with duck tape,
Over my mouth,
I’ll breathe through my nose,
And see the whole show.

I go with you almost everywhere,
Just since you have joined her,
I’ll decease even more,
And barely be heard,
The honeymoon I’ll skip,
I’ll just leave you two alone.

When the baby shower comes,
I’ll be there to celebrate too,
I wish we had a child,
But we were split too soon.

I’ll be there when you start to grow gray hair,
When your birthday cake,
Are huge giant flames,
I’ll just give you a hard dryer and you blow them all out,
I don’t want to give you a heart attack because you tried using your own breath,

Remember I love you,
I’ll always care,
You think that I left you,
But I’ll always be here,
When you cry, I cry,
So wipe up those tears,
Live life to the fullest,
Cause as I found out it’s gone within a moment,
You can’t see me,
But I’ll always be here.

it's not weird, not weird in the slightest.
i think it's amazing, it shows you have heart, kindness, strength, courage and love.
be happy, be free, and always be who you want to be.
    take care.
    love
