Life review

I’m going to change my life today
I know it will work out fine
I’m gonna show them how to live
Because of this plan is mine.
I’m going to become a different person
And no one says it won’t be hard
In fact they said ‘That’s impossible’
And laugh with no regard.
I’m going to change everything
I’ll never again be walked over.
I’ll take no abuse and stand up high
And never again wish to just die.
I’ll make new friends
And learn to laugh
Learn to live the life I missed.
I’ll write poetry that’s unsystematic
I’ll eat and sleep and drink as I will
No one can tell me what to do
As there will be no need
Cos I’ll know for sure what’s right and wrong.
People will turn as they hear me speak
I’m shouting out to the world
And for once the world will reply.
Because it’s never too late
Or too much pain
To get back my life.

I know this plan will work you see
Cos this isn’t just a rare and happy dream
I know deep in my heart
In the darkness where there is no light
Where I slipped depressed every night.
Is the place this plan came from.
It’s real, kind of authentic
I’ve hung there for so long.
And now I see everything change.
I still have doubts.
Maybe this isn’t right?
No, of course it is.
I know too,
I know that everything will be different
So prepare, godforsaken world
For a change of heart
Soon enough the world will see
Enough to know to beware
Beware, world, it's me.
