My Faith

Throughout my struggles and strife
I've questioned my purpose
And during my whole life
My thoughts never surfaced

In time of grief and regret
I questioned your existence
But now I'll never forget
My longing dependence

I would always question you
When it seemed you had left me
But now I will always choose
To follow your decree

You are my friend and comrade
Whenever I face the day
And I try not to be sad
When things don't go my way

I'm sorry I doubted your word
I will repent until the end
It may sound somewhat absurd
But I want to be your best friend

So, God, I confide in thee
I open my heart to you
To erase that memory
That could never be true

So in this poem I dedicate
My everlasting devotion
I won't make the same mistake
In any way or any notion
