Unmintioned Pain

by Kia   Dec 1, 2004

I saw her everyday
She always seemed happy
The life of pain she lived
Is not what her face would portray

Looks can be deceiving
Because on the outside
She always wore a smile
And never showed she was grieving

She was always left out
Never invited to parties
Left home to be by herself
Like she was someone no one cared about

In school she was falling behind
Her parents didn’t realize it
She thought they didn't care
She figured they must be blind

She began to cut
Looking for a release
Her parents didn't the scars
Their eyes were completely shut

Each time she would want more
The razor digging at her skin
The blood flowing from her arm
Deeper into her wrists she tore

Each day the pain grew worse
She could hardly bear it
Not a place on her arm not scarred
She dreamed of being put in the hearse

She rarely went to school
No one noticed she wasn't there
She would rather be alone
Than around people who are cruel

One night she decided to leave
She had put up with enough
She wanted to get even
She wanted people to grieve

Sitting in her room, she wrote
Stating on a piece of paper her final goodbye
All of her desired and her reasonings
All of it explained in her final note

Saying what she wants to be said
She puts down her pen
And tapes the note to the door
Silently she raises the gun to her head
