Disecting

by BreatheNoMore   Dec 1, 2004

Could these be tears of joy?
Or are these tears of pain?
I can’t tell the difference anymore
My chest swells with cold air
As I reflect on your sweet face
I can almost feel you lying next to me
But these sobs exist from empty days

Drawing out this emotion
Until I cannot take it anymore
Poking and dissecting my heart
Until my heavy breaths throw me to the floor
Grasping air so viscous
I reach for your embrace
But what I find is jagged emptiness
A million whispered thoughts that just won’t fall into place

I LOVED this poem. I cant exactly tell you why... it just touched me in a way that alot of poems dont. I appreciate your ambiguity, because I think some people write poems and pin point exactly what they mean, leaving nothing open to interpret. Keep it up, this was good!
    With love, K. Kristina
