More than meets the eye

by Taylor Porton   Dec 1, 2004

Look into my eyes
can you feel it
The love, the passion
so strong it's almost painful yet still
I love you

I see your eyes
they are not warm and welcoming like my own
They are cold and hard
like a steel bar
Thrown at my chest

I can't breathe anymore
don't you care?
The weight of your strifes is killiing me
pinning me to the ground

I see you standing over me
holding the bar above you
Screaming like a madman
then crash, to my head

I try to look up at you
find the admiration you once held in your eyes
I'm sure it's there
I can't see anymore
love is blinding
Am I blind?

No, I see an image
you
But your figure is no longer strong and powerful
Now crumpled
I think you're kneeling over me

I wish I could see better
but my vision is blurred
Have I been crying?
no, the tears are not my own
They fill my eyes, spilling over my whole body
Washing me clean
