The Portrait

by Keile   Dec 2, 2004

The portrait hung on the wall
like she hung at his feet begging him not to leave
this portrait stood still as time passed by
tears running down the face of yet another hopeless lie
it always ended up this way
letting what she loved go
she didn't even think that the tears would seep this low
cradeling her broken heart and emptying her soul
taken what has all these days made her whole
years of pain and misery... tears of laughter and joy
she gave up her heart and her life for some foolish boy
another table turns
another story is told
just like the life we live
this portrait has been sold
